I decided to read chapter 9: "Revising and Remixing Your Work." I chose this chapter because it had some relevance to the story we read Tuesday called Shitty First Drafts. we revise our work because our first draft is usually really shitty and revising is geared toward getting your ideas together and finding the good parts and bringing all of your ideas together. In this chapter, there are two types of revising presented to us. the first is revising based on your own observations. An example used to explain this was an artist. most artists don't just paint a masterpiece first try. they usually draw and sketches and do a lot of erasing until they finally find something that they like. another type of revising is peer review where you allow others to read your paper and offer ways to fix and improve it. this is important because it gives you the opinions of other people. they can help you figure out where you need to make connections more explicit, where you need to have better examples and explanations, and other improvements. these peers can be teachers, tutors, friends, etc. Just like in Shitty First Drafts 3 drafts are recommended until your final draft to hopefully allow for the best revision possible.
